| Your review states thet this pub was once run by Bernard Youens, ex Corrie. This is not true. Bernard Popley (his actual name, Youens being his stage name), ran the Victoria Hotel on Higher Walton Road during the 60s. Greg Counsell - 30 Jul 2006 21:42 |
| Has sloping floor which makes the bar quite high at one end (presumably as it is near the banks of the Ribble and liable to flooding, used to be run by Bernard Youens (Stan Ogden) from "Corrie",almost opposite where the bloke who formed the Temperance society lived, nice place for a pint on a country walk even though it's on the A6,walk up the hill round the corner and your in the country. bagheas - 4 Apr 2006 16:14 |
