Yes service is terrible - mainly from moody barmaids. daisy1 - 10 Mar 2008 12:21
Slug & Soulless more like. Draught ws dodgy on the three visits I've had, the service is sullen and moody and the clientele seem to be the kind of people you'd prefer to avoid. There's really nothing to recommend about the place. Sadly, Putney seems to be nosediving in terms of decent bars and pubs. I_Love_Rugby - 12 Feb 2007 16:22
I have to refute what muttsnutts said below. The acoustic night is just a good bit of fun that doesn't take itself seriously. All the guys there are bonafide musicians with an amazing amount of talent. If it is some 'fresh hell' as our budding dante puts it, why is it consistently the busiest bar in Putney on a sunday, with people coming from as far afield as Camden, and even Southend? It's just a good laugh to end the week and ease people into the week ahead. Afterall, everyone hates mondays, but it's less stressful when you've spent the night before enjoying yourself! There are indeed other places that offer acoustic music, and very good they are as well, but remember muttsnutts, this is just a bit of fun, and people enjoy it! Take care, and maybe another visit with this in mind might change your mind? No big shakes if it doesn't though. anonymous - 25 May 2006 18:26
I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate franchised pubs - I hate them!!! Abhorently!!! They always lack atmosphere and are usually filled with pretentious twats and a static pompous atmosphere. Having said that, I found this particular bar a breath of fresh air from the normal shitty "slugs" and "pitchers", etc. This was more or less down to a relaxed atmosphere - mostly people who had finished work and were winding down. The staff were friendly and there was a good selection of beers, wines, etc. at reasonable prices. My friend sampled the food and had no complaints. They had a small screen showing the Chelsea-Newcastle United game for those that were interested, but the commentary didn't drown out my conversations with my friend. The only thing which put a downer on the night was a group of office girls on the adjacent table complaining about purchase ledgers and moody couriers. 7/10 CheekyShepherd - 23 Mar 2006 11:38
Called in here the other Sunday to see what the acoustic session was like. The words "What fresh Hell is this?" sprang to my lips after about 2 seconds inside. A bloke doing covers while someone else beatboxes does not an acoustic session make. Sound quality was not good, atmosphere was not there. If you want a proper acoustic night there are better options in Putney. Just take a stroll down the Lower Richmond Road on a Monday night. Muttsnutts - 13 Mar 2006 14:52
