| Visited this pub a couple of time and they are trying really hard, with regular live music on a Friday. There are new faces behind the bad and have started holding various events through the month. Locals are friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit or two this is, refreshingly, an old pub which may show in some decor choices but all in all worth a try before you dismiss it ! silentdrinker - 19 Jun 2011 19:08 |
| Dropped in last Sunday whilst on a longish walk. It was a bit like stepping back in time and the place looks very tired at best. Having said that, the welcome was friendly and the Courage Best in good order although that was the only beer available. | I went there for a quiet pint and was impressed by the welcome afforded by the landlord. Although a locals pub I enjoyed being acknowledged as well as a friendly informative chat about the history of this old inn. The blazing open fire and the excellent range of real-ales ensures I will return. | I am the new chef at The White Hart Public House in Old Woking. We cater for the local customers and we wish to extend our cooking to other areas and so I cook traditional pub food, plus a little bit of Fine Dining and now we have been lucky enough to have been able to put fresh locally caught game on our menu. Alot of our fresh ingredients are brought in by our regular customers and our suppliers are small run family businesses. i am trying to make a change to the food and bring the cuisine up to date and present the food in a way that is most appetising. The Special's board are changed almost twice a week and all the food is homemade and made and invented onsite. The White Hart was a brewery in and around the 16thC, we hold a lot of history and once you enter the building,you will realise that for yourself, from Jacobean beams to flagstone flooring in the cellar(if your lucky enough to catch a glimpse) and dated Inglenook fireplaces that are alight in the cold winter months.We offer an extensive priced menu and a very warm welcome. silentdriver - 22 Sep 2010 22:00 |
