| Visited this pub a couple of time and they are trying really hard, with regular live music on a Friday. There are new faces behind the bad and have started holding various events through the month. Locals are friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit or two this is, refreshingly, an old pub which may show in some decor choices but all in all worth a try before you dismiss it ! silentdrinker - 19 Jun 2011 19:08 |
| Dropped in last Sunday whilst on a longish walk. It was a bit like stepping back in time and the place looks very tired at best. Having said that, the welcome was friendly and the Courage Best in good order although that was the only beer available. | I went there for a quiet pint and was impressed by the welcome afforded by the landlord. Although a locals pub I enjoyed being acknowledged as well as a friendly informative chat about the history of this old inn. The blazing open fire and the excellent range of real-ales ensures I will return.
