| Excellent pub, good choice of ales and wines. If you order food be prepared to be eating for a long time - the servings are massive. Food is served until 10pm in the summer. Gets busy at weekends, full of us sailors! colinworth - 12 Dec 2008 15:08 |
| Easily the classiest pub in Gosport town centre, lots of yachtie types drinking in there, especially at the weekends, so the atmosphere is generally convivial. The selection of ales is pretty good, and the food is a welcome change from the McOutlets and kebab shops along the high street. It's a bit more expensive than the other pubs in town, but in this case you get what you pay for. Also very handy as a meeting point off the Gosport Ferry, it's certainly a lot better than waiting in the dismal reminder of the paucity of '70s architectural talent that is the bus station. | Great pub, amazing considering the shockingly bad quality of any local competition! Pretty mcuh exclusively populated by yachties from the Camper & Nicholsons Marina next door, well kept 6X and London Pride and very good food, in almost ridiculously sized portions. An oasis. Go.
