This pub closed for good about two weeks ago. Unfortunately despite the best efforts of the previous landlady trade just wouldn't pick up no doubt this was because of the appalling state of the decor & toilets not to mention the garden, upholstery held together with duct tape, rotten bitter and threadbare carpet.
Naturally had the brewery Shepherd Neame wanted to keep the place going they'd have given some support to the Tennant but no they just let it die and boarded it up. It was OK for a quiet pint but alas it'll just be another soulless poorly constructed block of flats soon.

popped in here before going to see tooting and mitcham play down the road. this pub is a bit 'spit and saw dust' but its does the job ok. dont understand why some boozers insist on having all the curtains drawn during the day though, was very dark and dingy. stepping back out into day light was a bit disorientating

Went in as says Shepherd Neame pub .... took one sip of my pint of Spitfire and walked out as anybody who is willing to sell beer that poorly kept is not going to give a refund. Avoid!!!!

I'm surprised by this pub's low rating. It's a Shepherd Neame pub and I did get a few strange looks from the locals when entering. But I thought it was a fine example of a community local, thriving with a loyal clientele. Maybe my memories are tainted by the fact that this was my 12th and final pub of the day. But my Bishop's Finger (the other ale was Master Brew) was fine and whilst I normally hate having live music forced upon me in a pub, the female performer was quite good. Although again, this may have been the beer and cider talking. For a classic example of a community local, look no further than this pub in Mitcham. For a better ale range, try the White Lion of Mortimer. Even better - try both.
