Very amusing pub. Make sure you know where the toilets are before you drink too much - they are hidden behind a fake bookcase! Food good, beer good and staff very friendly. antipede - 4 Mar 2008 17:38
Wonderfully strange little place. I adored finding the secret toilets while by friends had to go all the way downstairs each time they needed a whizz. Not just for heavy metal fans, it's dark but it's got charisma. edb543 - 19 Jan 2007 03:37
I don't care what anyone says about this bar, I loved it when I was in Edinburgh. Mind you, I did know the majority of the bar staff so it was always a friendly atmosphere to me! It is hysterical watching people (namely tourists!) getting directions to the toilets, walking round the pub then deciding they don't really need it! Last time I was there they had a fab magician - not sure if he is still doing the rounds. I am in no way a goth but it is still one of the best themed pubs in Edinburgh. I never been into an eerie pub like it. Excellent. torica - 24 Jan 2006 11:36
Don't bother unless you are a student or like the dark with loud music, far better pubs within minutes walk Ian341 - 10 Oct 2005 13:14
Security are rude and heavy handed. Yesterday a friend was mistaken for someone giving the bar-staff hassle. They took his drink from him, and told him in no uncertain terms to get out, without any explanation. When they realised their mistake, he was told he could stay, but there was no appology, and no replacement drink. moragbl - 8 Jan 2005 14:50
