Went last Friday. Very very friendly pub. Small but we certainly livened the place up and the landlord and staff were ever so welcoming I would definitely recommend this pub to others esp. if they want a nice quiet drink in peace! x

I worked here during the summer holidays in 1991(?), and remember the saloon bar being quite civilised. Sadly, it was locked shut when I turned up at 5-00 on a Friday evening. So I walked into the public bar - in a suit - and asked what bitter they sell (there being no pumps on the bar). I may as well have walked in wearing a tutu and ordered a Babycham.

I keep promising that I'll go back when the saloon's open, but so far I've not pluckedd up the courage.

Lovely pub since the new owner took over about a year ago, really cleaned it up and decorated it to a high standard. Great food in the week and HUGE Sunday roasts . . . . one of the best i've tasted. Staff are friendly which gives a good atmosphere. Have been there a lot recently and love my Friday nights there with the live entertainment. This pub is fast becoming my local!!!!!!

I went in here today as my other half wanted to use the toilet, but we ended up staying for lunch and it was DELICIOUS. I had a wonderful, fresh ploughmans and my boyfriend had "chilli chips" which was a plate of chips with a side bowl of chilli and three pieces of garlic bread! We will definitely go back.
