Decent enough pub, friendly, cosy, warm, good food, but can't quite see what the fuss is about. Only 1 guest beer on Saturday, Moorhouse's Premier (not a favourite), but the clip turned round (only to turn back later) so IPA it was. OK pint, well as OK as GK IPA is ever likely to get. My wife's wine was very nice. Would be better with a better range of beers, and can't understand how it gets into the Good Beer Guide. metrology_man - 13 Feb 2012 08:30

Have to say if your looking for a warm fire and a great pint of ale, this place is hard to beat. A very old cosy pub, with friendly staff and pub dog. First visited this place 3 years ago, and now I can't go past Westerham without stopping here. Great pint of Abbot and IPA, and they have now added a couple more guest beers to keep me there longer. For that old time feel they even have jugs!! Also the food here is superb, great portion sizes. Sunday lunch is the best around for miles. THEBUDGIE - 1 Feb 2011 10:44
Never posted a review before but after my visit on Sunday I felt I needed to. My wife and I flew into Gatwick Airport and collected our car we drove on the A25 rather than M25 and decided to stop for lunch at a village pub , we stopped at the General Wolfe , the beer was superb I had the guest ale St Austells Proper Job my wife had half of GK Mild ( cant remember the last time I was in a Pub that sold Mild ) The atmosphere in the pub was friendly and welcoming the Barmaid is Dutch and very attentive and the Sunday Roast was just like my Mother used to make. The Wolfe as the locals call it is obviosly a locals pub but they were very friendly and welcoming. The lanlord appeared at about 4pm to take over from the Barmaid , he obviously knew his customers very well , he shook hands with all the Male customers and gave the Ladies a peck on their cheeks , the atmosphere actually got better. He introduced himself to us and even when we explained we were just passing through and lived over 200 miles away he didnt lose interest. If this pub was near wher we lived it would definatley be our local billyballbag - 26 Oct 2010 21:47
Called in one evening last week, when due to the an accident on the M25 I was diverted through Westerham. Delightful pub, there were a group of locals roasting chestnuts in the open fire who made me feel completely at home. Such a great feel to the place. I cannot comment on the quality of the beer as I was driving however the locals seemed to be enjoying it! A must visit if you are ever in the area ADB74 - 26 Oct 2010 14:30
