Been here (Corkers) a few times and always a little disappointed. Ale is generally unreliable (Doom Bar was not too fresh last night) and toilet facilities are inadequate! Dreadful and intrusive music last night as well to boot. Perhaps just a bad night at the office... Could be quite a good venue.

Now known as "Corkers" this wine bar is handily placed, opposite West Byfleet railway station and close to several office blocks and the local shopping area, so it gets pretty busy after work during the week. At weekends local custom keeps the place ticking over nicely.

The bar is quite small but very clean and well maintained and decorated. A nice touch was the display of posters for forthcoming productions at the theatre in nearby Woking. One problem I have experienced in the past is that when the place is busy the bar counter causes a pinch point and can make it difficult to get to and from the toilets.

Contary to reviews below, Corkers does now sell spirits. Last Friday lunch London Pride and 6X were on tap, the 6X at 3.20 was in reasonable nick. Strongbow, Cold Guinness, Stella, Artois4 and Becks Vier were on keg.

A "Today's Specials" food blackboard showed some pretty reasonably priced items but I visited a bit early for anyone to be eating.

A very reasonable place to drop in if you are in the area.

Its bland, over priced & they dont sell spirits!!!!!
Food its way too expensive. The manager needs to lay off the white stuff for a while & give his nose a rest! But you can get a free drink off the bar staff now and then....!

Right.... it's 2.70 for a Stella which is reasonable enough for anywhere in Surrey these days, as for the old sweaty people... get a life mate.. Don't be ageist, some of the best people to talk to in life are the ones who have actually had one!
Oh yeah and if someone does smell, at least have the decency to tell them so as they can do something about it!
As for the actual place, well if you ask me it's top class! You have real people with real lives. Who want's another huge warehouse full of numbers (and I don't mean Krony), where you can't hear a thing and all the blokes just want to get pi**ed and fight.
The Sidewalk has a personality of its own, blended with good music, great DJ's & the odd live band, fabulous food and as already mentioned some superb looking bar tenders.. Not to mention they are friendly and will actually have a laugh with you..
Any major sports events are experience in themselves, with plenty of opinions and emotions flying around but without attitude or aggression.. One of the best places I have ever had the privilege to spend my cash !!

Outnumbered matey, tiny, cold & expensive are you sure you weren't drinking in Claremont Cars waiting room. Cos as far as I'm concerned the Sidey is great only let down they don't serve spirits think Grundy will agree with me definateley in the top five best bars in surrey. Don't understand the old and sweaty bit either i'd say it was quite a young trendy place as for 3 quid a pint if you can't afford to drink with the big boy's they're doing a bogof at witherspoons, where they're is no music no atmosphere that would probably better suit you better. enjoy ta da
