Can highly recommend this pub good food though service can be a little slow, but it is in such a nice setting just sit back relax and enjoy the views. eltel - 14 Sep 2008 08:00
What a fantastic, quintessentially English, riverside pub in a delighful surrounding. We had a meal for seven, sitting outside on the benches over looking the river. The service was superb and the food was served amazingly quickly. Can highly recommend the Beef & Guinness Pie, the Scampi & Chips but best of all was the homemade Fish Cakes - plump & very tasty. We did not suffer the over crowding (probably as a result of the inclement weather!) but the bar man did say, that on busy days, customers queue out of the door even when there is a 90 minute cooking time. mpw246pl - 17 Aug 2008 14:32
Save this one for off peak. Great location on the river but it gets very, very busy and there's almost a long wait for food as the kitchens can't cope with the numbers. When it gets so busy, there's often nowhere to sit outside. Very much a chain pub but lovely on a quiet winter night. 2walkers - 19 Jul 2008 17:54
we really like it here but its popularity is its downfall as its way too busy in the summer. food is excellent and we havent had a bad meal there. One point i really cant understand is why people queue to get to the bar! any decent bar person knows how to work a bar and serve in the correct so Isee nopoint in queueing out through the door to get served..anyone else notice this? lovely during the summer when it is less popular edwardrr - 17 Jul 2008 13:22
Never used to like it in here, but after having Children, all of a sudden I see the appeal.. A decent pub for a meal for sure. TheGP - 26 May 2008 20:28
