Had an OK pint of Cains Bitter here (though not a fan of their bitter per se). Buzzing atmosphere and very handy to go to just after midnight on a Friday night. JonW999 - 11 Feb 2008 18:38
Unexpectedly brilliant bar that despite its setting (the basement of the Everyman Theatre) is an unpretentious welcoming bar that attracts one of the most wide-ranging clinetele of all the pubs and bars in the city. Great range of real ales that regularly change (though Taylor's Landlord seems to be on everytime I go in there). I seem to remember Hoegaarden on tap as well. Never eaten in here but the menu looks more appetising and hearty than most. anfieldjet - 26 Nov 2007 14:38
We had lunch here whilst killing a few hours in between arriving at John Lennon and catching a train from Lime Street. Lots of grub to choose from, the quality of which was ok; though the cheesecake for pud was outstanding! Plenty of real ale to choose from - if memory serves we went for Cains' Bitter which was excellent. mikeyangela - 17 Sep 2007 23:48

Decent place, nice wide-range of beers, and as mentioned nice food. However you will struggle to get a seat / table on Thursdays, Friday, Saturday or Sunday unless you camp there the night before! I`ve always ended up standing. Scousefire - 29 Sep 2005 13:48
