I must say this place has improved vastly over the last year or so. Theres always a very good selection of Ales on tap and a fast turn over of Guest Ales meaning there always in good condition. Staff are always very pleasant and getting served has improved vastly very rarely have to wait unless its busy. Just shows what a good management team can do. Well recommended for a visit if passing. The food service in this one seems good as well fast and no long waits I had nice extra large mixed grill very good. The other good points I noticed is tables are also cleared & cleaned quickly when customers are finished eating Rather then dirty crocks left laying around for ages.

I went in here on Friday evening too see if its improved any since my last visit No such luck. I waited nearly 10 Minuets too get served the first time whilst three of the staff collected glasses bottled up of served food even though there was a Que of customers four deep at the bar. Too make matters worse they were mostly Young kids buying multi coloured jugs of cocktails taking ages. Why is it that Wetherspoons make big Pubs but never have enough staff too serve all the customers. Out of ten Pumps there was only two guest Ales on tap the rest were all showing coming soon apart from Abbot & Ruddles very poor show for a Friday evening. I was going too get a second Pint but after I queued for about another 10 minuets I gave up and went elsewhere. I would not recommend this Pub at weekends as it always seems to be full of young loud student types of 18 if that.

Average Spoons, agree with half tuppence, staff are very slow at serving. I was waiting to be served, and then the barmaid started up a conversation with someone next to me she had just served.

A large open plan Spons pub. Usually has four guest beers . Some

concerns have been expressed by regulars over the new manager

who seems to lack the commitment of her predecessors to maintaining

the range and quality of the real ales.
