Seems too be on the up again lately with much better choice of Ales and the staff and service seems too have improved no end with well manned & polite staff . I Was in on Wed &Thurs Nights and it seemed much better no wait at the bar and food was served within 10 minuets of ordering. Just shows what difference a good duty manager makes. I would agree with Half Tuppence on that point.

I would have to agree with some of the other comments made recently this is not too bad for a Wetherspoons but it Dose seem to depend on the Duty Manager & Time of day. Sometimes during the week there’s a really good bar manager on duty that’s very good with Staff & Knows all about Ale takes time to talk to customers and is happy to help. Other times normally Fri Sat nights there’s a big grumpy guy who seem very impolite & standoffish and who seem to have no time for Ale drinkers this always seems to attract the wrong sort of crowd of younger drinkers Fridays & Saturday nights maybe because it’s busier and there’s not the same checks carried out.
Overall its a good Pub & the Food is good during the week but I would Avoid it on Friday & Saturday Nights after about 18:00 hrs as it seems to get Full of very young drinkers Most of which seem to have child or 16-17 travel cards when you watch them go back though Southgate Tube Stn.
This situation seems to be made worse by the fact that they seem to get served Large Jugs of Alcopops all night.

It’s a Wetherspoons pub so the usual old men are dotted about this huge open plan pub staring into space with their pint of bitter. There is a plasma screen in a little alcove which was showing sky news, but I don’t think that they have sky sports. It is not the greatest place to position a TV for lots of people to watch so I’d imagine it is there for people who like to watch the news whilst they get drunk…. Exciting stuff.

The barman was very friendly, but had to be encouraged by his co-worker to stop counting stock and serve one of the four people waiting. When he did serve me he was very polite and friendly.

The usual lagers that you would find in a Spoons pub were on offer with Bombardier, Roaring Meg, Titanic Nautical Mild, Exmoor Gold and Mordue Workie Ticket. Loads of old clips were pinned up on the walls so you could see that they usually have a varied range of bitters.

This isn’t that bad a pub except for the fact that it has absolutely no atmosphere, like most wetherspoon pubs.

Been back here A few times in the last four weeks and what a change from six months ago. This was a good Pub run well now its terrible. I have often waited over 10 minuets to get served. last night was no different the first time when I did get served the staff had no manners whatsoever no Please or Thank You. Ordered food & Ale. When I get the Ale it was cloudy and not in good condition at all another regular occurrence lately. The food was half cold when arriving after waiting 30 minuets. Tried again to get A second Pint after waiting over 10 minuets again and watching bar staff just talking to Friends in the corner and serving just them I got browned off and I walked out and will not return until theres a change of Management or Staff. There seems to be a real down turn in Wetherspoons management team lately service is diabolical to Non existent not just in this Pub but most of there Pubs lately. Gone down in my opinion from about 8/10 to 3/10

I visited this pub on Thursday, 27 September and found it to be your usual JDW conversion from a large shop. Tended to be a little gloomy even on a bright day mainly due to the low ceiling.

However, it's was better than I expected with 3 guest beers plus the usual regular ones. The service both for food and beer was quick and the staff were very friendly. The gents was reasonably spacious and clean.

I would not hesitate to go back.
