user reviews of the Duck Inn, Laverstock

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Open all day, so the signs in the window say. Lights on, 3pm Saturday afternoon, all doors resolutely shut. What a waste of time. Surely a note in the window to say you are not open would be possible?

My partner's daughter has recently moved out to Laverstock, providing me with an excuse to wander the 500yds or so down to this excellent little pub on a fairly regular basis. This may possibly be the best of Hopback's pubs in terms of the quality of it's beer - the Crop Circle is unfailingly excellent, always leaving a residual trace down the inside of the glass to the last drop. I agree with another poster on this site about the interior decor and furniture arrangements - it doesn't seem quite to know what overall effect is being aimed for.
Don't let this put you off, though. The staff and regulars are friendly enough, and although I've not eaten there yet, others tell me that the food is pretty good.

A pleasant pub much improved after the recent purchase by Hop Back. It sells Hop Back Beer (need I say more??)and a guest ale (The Downton Brewery when I was there).
Beer garden outside in which to enjoy your pint in good weather.

A curious pub.

It's had a lot of modern extension work done, but in a way that doesn't really do much either to or for the interior of the building.

The selection of beers is good - it's a Hopback pub so you can get Summer lightning.

It's in a good location for what is effectively a village pub.
