Went in last Sunday for lunch. In the bar OK except that one of the party ordered a Lager Shandy, which she believed was the most tasteless she had ever had. Roast Beef was probably precooked & was like leather, both portions were left.
One of the Doors in the ladies toilet needed foot on it to keep it shut.
Service pleasant
How did they get East Anglian Pub of the Year 2007?

I went here back in March on a weekend break with my family. What excellent food in the restaurant! Great for a special occasion although a bit above my budget when paying for three. Staff very friendly even down to a discussion about the music - was that really Rod Stewart? Didn't have a chance to taste the beer - but next time ......

I agree with the last two comments. Much improved, although the service was a bit slow.

Two bars, one more formal, one less so, but has a fun bar (a boat!). Brilliant location, can get rather touristy in the summer, plenty of boaters in high season. Posh restaurant, great for meat dishes. The meat is locally sourced. Friendly management and staff, good attention to detail. Beers are rather expensive for a non large city location, but good range. Open fire in winter, rather snug when the fen wind is blowing along the river. Convenient for train station.
