A pretty shameful waste of a presumably historic building on the marketplace in Ross. The decently inclined staff do their best to save it but to have all bitters off at 5pm on a Friday night is bad form. The pool table is a bonus but a free juke box can provide mixed blessings if the wrong people get to it first

On a Friday night visit we found this the most enjoyable pub. Music from Deep Purple to Oasis which is loud enough you wont miss it if you go for a slash. Besides the 2 Wye Valley ales there was also a good one from Brains which makes a nice change.

I was a bit taken aback by the two previous comments as I've never had a bad experience here, even though I only visit twice a year. Having paid another visit last weekend I haven't changed my good opinion of the place, except that it's sometimes a bit smoky. Beer is excellent as usual and two of the local "muppets", far from staring, actually took care to move so that I could watch the football.

Good beer, shame about some of the local muppets who tend to stare at out of towners.

Avoid the locals, specially the pikeys on the evenings and weekends....beer is not bad tho!
