I had a few beers in here on Saturday night and found it to be OK, but nothing special. The staff were friendly enough and there was a large selection of lager available alongside Courage Best.

The pub is split into two bars, one of which was empty and the other was very busy. There is also some covered seating outside the front of the pub on the main road.

I found the vast majority of patrons to be extremely welcoming although one guy in his 50’s was a bit of a prick. The live band was ok, although not my cup of tea.

I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here again, but it is better than the Queens Arms across the road.

reiterating what others have said. Its a jekyll and hyde pub. One side (alas unpatronised) is almost your trendy wine bar and looks lovely the other is like a jd wetherspoon with like clientele. It looks great from the outside but on the 9 occasions i have been in i have always asked why i bothered afterwards. Its naff, its populated by it appears the locals from Mays Lane rather than the better side of the tracks

Was in this pub last week, shame about the customers, talk about rough the lady behind the bar was good, service was good, shame she is working in there, when there are better pubs to work in, They have recently opened the new bar next door, waste of money as no one was in there,

This is one of those pubs that has put the effort in, in terms of appearance, entertainment, service and food but which is tragically hampered by the people that drink in there.
Had a couple of pints here recently and a decent meal from the Sunday carvery (a little over-priced at £8.95 in fairness, but tasty nonetheless). Beer was good and fresh and priced on a par with most boozers in this area. The furniture was comfortable and everything was clean and tidy. The screens showing the football were well places and all had good views and they were showing as many games as possible to appeal to all comers. Could have been a near perfect Sunday afternoon experience, but the whole thing was marred by the proliferation of lairy "geezers" shouting the odds at each other over the distance of the pub and indulging in some frankly pathetic macho posturing. Football mood was poisonous and highly charged rather than being just a bit of harmless banter.
Shame. The owners and staff deserve far better than this in return for their efforts.
Would drink here again but only when it was quiet.
