Came here once for our (Railway B'hurst) annual celebration dinner. Excellent meal, I had snails in garlic sauce.

We visited this pub after staying away because of the previous owners and we were pleasantly surprised with the new owner and his friendly staff. We were made to feel very welcome even during their busiest time of the day on the Sunday lunchtime that we vistited. The waitress that served us was very attentive to our needs and even the staff clearing the tables were cheerful and chatty and took the time to talk to us. The food was well presented , delicious and hot and very reasonably priced. Well done to all involved and lets hope you carry on the way you have started and we will definately be back for more.

Under new management. Again! At least you can get a pint of the Sussex ale now, but I have to say the metal tables and chairs outsied are a bit of a turnoff.
Didn't try the food this time, but will definitely be back to try that new menu.

I have just returned from sunday lunch with my mum at the blacksmith arms... we both went for the roast chicken at no point were we made aware that it was on the bone, my mum had lovely looking roast potatoes which seemed to have missed my plate as i had none. next up was dessert warm chocolate fudge cake nope when it arrived it was cold...Also the table was sticky :0( the staff seemed very rushed. On paying our bill-which was at first over charged we were asked was everything ok when we stated our fudge cake was cold the lady simply replied well that wasnt my fault this time.....Sorry will not be eating here again

I see that the Blacksmiths Arms had some poor reviews under its previous management. I am very happy to restore the balance for the new owners who have very recently taken over.
Visited today with my wife, and we had a super lunch in their restaurant. Tasty food - and plenty of it too. The service was fine and friendly. And altogether very good value . Will be happy to recommend anyone, and hope to return ourselves soon.
