This pub has been shut down for at least the last 6 months! Theres a sign outside looking for new landlords, so if you fancy opening a pub.... (ps - a closed pub gets a rating of 0 in my book!) roryh - 15 Jan 2010 22:46
Had squatters residing in the pub but now supposedly have been removed.Fingers crossed it will be renovated or sold to someone with some imagination by end of year as we are in dsperate need of a proper pub in the vicinity.Especially as The Loaded Dog has now been closed down. eastendoflondon - 14 Sep 2009 15:27
At last! Some building working is going on. Watch this space. Albert_Campion - 7 Sep 2009 11:14
Gawd, I hope it'll be better than the Cuckfield! Albert_Campion - 16 Jun 2009 16:40
| When is someone going to open a really good pub in Leytonstone? One of the main things missing in Leytonstone is a proper gastro-pub. Hopefully an enterprising entrepreneur should realise this fact and open a really good pub. The residents in the area have changed dramatically and continue to do so with the ongoing regeneration of the surrounding areas. It is clear if you see who uses the tube that the area has a recent influx of young affluent professionals but they have nowhere In Leytonstone to socialise. These people demand good beer, good food in a well styled pub, and they will happily pay for this. Think 'Cuckfields' in Wanstead only better food, better decor, or 'King Eddies' in Stratford, ditto food/decor. If you get this combination right, as a landlord, you could make a fortune!
