| went there last night and i was firstly put off by the comments made by legtrailer and the Timothy Taylors. Asked the landlord, steve, who kindly gave me a taste and it was wonderful. a real beer drinkers heaven! stocktonbeerguru - 22 Dec 2007 08:31 |
| On my first visit for 6 months I was served a pint of Timothy Taylors which was undrinkably bad.Won't go back. LEGTRAILER - 24 Nov 2007 10:41 |
Dreadful shame as this used to be a wonderful pub with great character and real characters amongst the clientele. That however was 20 years ago. I dont suppose any of the current customers realise how good it was once. anonymous - 23 Aug 2007 10:46 |
| Wearying,TV's,quiz machines,fruit machines--way way too chavvy,particularly for Hartburn.A lot of the older regulars have gravitated to the other 2 pubs in Hartburn.A dispiriting experience. LEGTRAILER - 18 Apr 2007 14:39 |
Twenty to thirty years ago this was a great pub. Then the lounge and bar were knocked through and it lost its character. Since being refurbished on different levels it has lost any traditional feel it ever had - and at one time that was lots. Bass is decent and if you didn't know how great this used to be I suppose the pub is alright. How much better it might have been. anonymous - 9 Jul 2006 15:58 |
