| I can honestly say this is one of my favorite pubs I have ever been to. Its not for everyone but if you like rock music, friendly bar staff, and feel at home in the kind of place where burping loudly will get you a little cheer, The Hob Goblin is your kind of pub. There have been several changes, sound proofing and redecorating being the two major improvements. | It's such a shame that this pub simply isn't what it used to be. A recent change in management has caused most of the decent staff to leave. It now has a very 'cold' atmoshere and certainly isn't a nice place to go for a drink. What was once a friendly, welcoming and laid back pub has now turned into something of a dump. | Really not a good pub at all. The kind of place where not liking Metallica is considered something of a cardinal sin by the patronage. Grubby decor, not a great selection of beer (never cared much for Hobgoblin) and a generally unwelcoming atmosphere.
