Excellent Pub, top quality beer, friendly staff. Good music, spacious patio garden if you want to smoke. Can't understand the negative comments, didn't think the prices were too bad. I thought the pub has lots of character, but then some people just like to grumble. I must say I had the nicest pint of Dark I've drunk for a long time. RintysMate - 28 Mar 2011 14:38
You have a choice of great ales but also need a word with the bank manager to see if you can afford such prices!! caskforce - 10 Feb 2011 18:02
the prices here are ridiculous especially when you consider the competition across the road in Hanover. £4.20 For a pint of Hoegaarden and not even a particularly good one. Food menu looks good and much more reasnoably priced in comparison. Go here for the ambience, decor and food and drink tap water. Then go to the Caroline of Brunswick for a (reasonably priced)drink. robamy - 4 Oct 2010 10:38
A decent selection of cask ales, but you certainly pay for it! £6.70 for two session-strength cask ales is ridiculous, even in the south of England - other Brighton pubs a lot better than the Hobgoblin don't charge anywhere near that much. Although the ales were well kept, there are far better pubs within easy reach. alexw - 7 Sep 2010 18:26
I can honestly say this is one of my favorite pubs I have ever been to. Its not for everyone but if you like rock music, friendly bar staff, and feel at home in the kind of place where burping loudly will get you a little cheer, The Hob Goblin is your kind of pub. There have been several changes, sound proofing and redecorating being the two major improvements. The old management drove this place into the ground but to me it looks like its finally back on track. janedoe2009 - 5 Jun 2009 18:24
