Good pint of Otter Ale supped here yesterday afternoon, Butcombe was also available. Not quite sure what or who this pub is trying to appeal to, it takes the word 'spartan' to extremes, still the beer is fine and its handy for Temple Meads station, and better than W*nkerspoons any day.

Bit of a live music and bikers haunt (well, that's how it appears anyway), so as far as I'm concerned 'All Good'. Couple of real ales on and the usual lagers and cider. Yeah it's a tad run down, but hey ho. When the bands are playing and everyone's partying....who care, as long as the beers good!! 7/10 from me.

on our recent trip to the U.K. we stopped in and had a few pints and they were excellent and the 25 year old bar man was very friendly, and we look forward to going back.

This should really be a prime spot right opposite the station and without much competition around, but it was very quiet on a recent Monday evening. For most of the time we were there, there were just four other punters in there playing darts, but we subsequently discovered that even some of them were the staff when they stopped their game to serve us.

Maybe the place needs a bit of investment. It’s a bit rough around the edges and could certainly do with being a bit more welcoming. There’s a couple of raised areas (one often used for bands) with the sort of iron railings around them that you would expect to see at a subway entrance, not in the middle of a pub. The toilets were dirty and smelly which is pretty inexcusable given how quiet the place was.

There were six hand pumps on the bar, but only four in use, and these were all duplicated. So just two beers on, namely Butcombe and Otter. Slightly better choice of ciders with Stowford Press, Blackthorn and Addlestones.
