please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Nags Head is now under new management (March 2014). There's a lot of good features returning to the pub, and the addition of curtains and flowers make it more homely. The old beams remain, and it's turning into a homely comfy place. They now serve food every day of the week, evenings and lunchtimes. I have tried a couple already, and the chef clearly has a passion for food. The choice is great, the quality outstanding! And a filling main meal for under a tenner, with excellent beer, is my kind of pub. I will be visiting often. I recommend this pub. New carpets and doors will make it even better.

Bar staff are absolutely gorgeous, unless you get the owner who is quite the character just not so pretty to look at, Always a smile, service was great, fish and chips on a wednesday night were delicious, and the pizza's produced from the kitchen on a friday night taste like they came from Italy, Beautiful. Would like to see more food from this pub. Chef is friendly and shows his face whenever he can. Cosy setting, ceilings are low and the roaring fire in the winter, gives the old pub a lovely feel. Lovely pub to go to when you've been for a nice walk in the quiet idilic village.

Had two Jennings real ales on tap when visited.
Beer OK but service slow and food expensive for the poor quality.

Ahhhh... what charm this pub beholds. If you are tall beware as the ceilings are very low. This contributes to the general air of cosiness that is always becoming when drinking in the country. I hear the beer can be a bit off sometimes and there is no stout on draught but I've never had any problems myself. The landlord is quite a character but this is the middle of the countryside.
Good for: Better in the evening than the day by far and probably in winter too.
