Would agree with other posters, definitely a food led bistro. I went for Sunday lunch ealier in the year, the food was good but did take a long time to arrive.

I don't think that the Black Sheep is nice - which is a shame after they met my demand for a wider selection of real ale. Have concluded that food is teh thing there - and perhaps an expensive half of Leffe.

Agree with JDchaser..not a traditional pub by any stretch. Bit of a mismatch really. Far too modern with velvet and sofas. Still the Black sheep was nice and the barman was perfectly pleasant.

Not really a traditional pub anymore, more of a food-lead bistro with added bar appealing to the well-healed and polite. Occasionally live music - expect jazzy vibes rather than head-banging metal or techno - food, wine etc. Darts, table football, loud singing or a meat raffle are notable by their absence!

Working locally this is a regular venue for lunch and after work drinks. It’s certainly the best pub in the area. No problems with the beer although it is expensive, considerably more so than other pubs in the area. The food is very good but again is expensive and does tend to be very slow – perhaps quality takes time!

There’s usually a good buzz in the place without it being totally packed out. If you want to sit down it’s not usually a problem. The staff are always attentive and have a smile on their faces.

The local competition isn’t up to much but even against stronger competition this pub would still rate well.
