| What a great pub. Four of us had a very enjoyable lunch after walking the dog on Bigbury beach on the Saturday after New Year. The food was excellent - three of us had the chicken, winter vegetables and spring onion soup and it was a meal in itself, with good chunks of chicken breast and good quality vegetables. My daughter had the fish and chips and was very happy with her choice. For ales, Sharps Doom Bar and Teignworthu Old Moggie were available on gravity and both were very fine. A lovely bar with the fire on at one end, and they are very dog friendly. Service was very good, but friendly. The family who now run the pub have been there about a year now and are doing a great job. We will definitely be back when we visit the area again and would not hesitate to recommend this pub to others Thirstyone - 9 Jan 2012 20:44 |
| Just got back from 2 weeks in Ringmore. I am delighted to say that the new owners have improved the food considerably! The beer is very well kept..Doombar is the house ale, but they always have another two on as well...Dartmoor Jail Ale was particularly nice! Lookey - 21 Aug 2011 22:33 |
| Just got back from a week in Ringmore. Food & beer were superb, as was the friendly staff. Sadly the owner is leaving in September, and the pub is being taken over by the chef from the Pilchard on Burgh Island( Not the owner of Burgh Island who doesnt like tourists using the Pilchard!) | Our local , when we are on holiday in Devon, it has changed hands a few times since we first visited. The present owner is the best since James was in charge! Good food, and excellent beer. Lookey - 6 May 2010 22:53 |
| Nice Pub, Friday night is best for atmosphere. Beer a little dear but food nice. Saying that, if you have experienced FRYER TUCKS in Challaborough, The WORST, OVER PRICED. COLD, RE-HEATED, DISGUSTING FISH AND CHIP SHOP IN THE UK, Believe me DO NOT GO THERE, Go to the pub instead RRRrrrrrrr - 13 Nov 2009 18:12 |
