Very disapointed. There was no food on when we visited and onlt 2 cask beers, Oxford Gold, which was OK and 1 other. The place only had about 1/2 dozen people in even though it was Saturday night. The staff were friendly enough. I would give it another try if I ever go back to Tamworth.

I thought this place was alright! Not many people in for a saturday, but I had a good chinwag and a bit of a laugh - friendly place. Standard beers supplemented by a handpumped ale or two. Smallish place but felt bigger, somehow.

Sport on the telly.

A great welcome on New Years Eve. Strangers to the pub but felt that we had been there many times before. Great hospitality, thanks; John &Nancy.

This pub is a narrow, but long building that retains a lot of character. It seems to be a Georgian facade, but there may well be older elements in the building. The interior has two rooms, one with a TV and a free jukebox. The furniture and fittings are based on the wattle and daub look, but are tastefully done. There is a nice beer garden as well. Service was fine. Clientel was mixed, and got a bit trendy later as all the youngies were hitting town - well it was Friday night!

Beerwise: usual stuff with Hobgoblin and Jennings Cocker Hoop on handpull - i am sure there was another, but failed to make a note. Both were fine.

The downside to this pub was the volume of the music. It drove us into the beer garden as we couldnt hear ourselves speak. Would love to come back in the week, hopefully when the music is lower - i think it would be really good.

Newly taken over when I visited at the end of january. This town centre pub had a big board outside declaring"Save Our Pub" which was obv a sad sign of today's climate.Being a gbg listed pub i was slightly disappointed to find only Banks's on draught, but the pint of bitter was in tip top condition, Nice old pub on 2 levels and friendly welcoming service from the new occupants, 7/10
