| Pricey beer for location as others have said. Food OK but stops Sunday lunch at 3pm which seemed early, and had run out of lots of dishes when we were there, bad luck I guess. zedhorn - 5 Feb 2012 10:33 |
| The pub is in one of the best locations in Topsham right by the harbour with plenty of outside seating. Inside does get busy with many meals being served. The trouble is it's a Hall and Woodhouse pub which mean expensive and a poor choice of beers. So just a 6/10 from me montie49 - 1 Nov 2011 19:01 |
| Nice location with plenty of outdoor seating. Beer of good quality CaptainDave - 23 Aug 2011 12:09 |
| My wife and I had lunch in the Lighter Inn last Friday (13/08/10). She drank Tanglefoot which was good and I had a decent glass of South African chenin blanc. Her fish and chips were first rate and my four large sardines were absolutely gorgeous. Service was prompt and courteous and I thought the prices reasonable for the terrific quality meal we had. | Recently went to this pub for some beer and food. Beer generally good if you like Hall & Woodhouse - First Gold, Tanglefoot and Lemony Cricket on when we visited. Bar staff were generally helpful and a nice place to sit outside and enjoy the river. However.... the food was absolutely shocking - everything seeming to come from either the microwave or the deep fat fryer. One person in our group ordered chicken which was actually raw in the middle. The rest of the party had food that was at best below average. Summary - nice for sitting outside and enjoying a pint, but steer clear of the food - possibly one of the worst eating experiences I've had for some time. jwat - 16 Jun 2010 18:54 |
