I admit I was in a slightly annoyed mood when I wrote the review, I was probably a little harsh. All in all I find the Keep a relaxing pub away from the town centre. The beer is good and the decor is quite pleasant, especially the Laurel and Hardy models. I am generally happy to pay this pub a visit. 9/10

To respond to some of the comments listed below, we are sorry that NoDisgrace found the Pub dirty, we have strict cleaning policies which we hope all our staff adhere to & we have taken steps to hopefully ensure that it is never dirty & the "shabby Chic" eclectic feel is the comfortable, relaxed atmosphere we aim for & a question of taste. But we have been here 4 years and have always made a seasonal change to our menu & changed to our Winter Warmer Menu at the beginning of November, we always keep our customers favourites on but make several changes to each menu each year. We look forward to reviews & encourage our customers to review us on this site

Not a bad bozzer for a town pub just away from the main drag 2 real ales on when I visited ,worth a stop off if nearby.

The Keep is quite the undiscovered gem in Guildford. Situated just off the main high street, opposite to the Castle grounds, it doesn't see the regular trade a more centrally placed pub might. Which is a shame because the pub itself is fantastic!

The décor is exactly how intended, dark and old. It gives a feeling of age and reflects the history attached to the pub itself.

The food is all home cooked and tastes great, it's very reasonable too!

The Keep is a small and well kept establishment. It's hard to compete with large chain companies like Wetherspoons, but what the keep has that they don't is quality and character.

A definite visit if you're a keen pub crawler!

Fantastic food, great beers, what more could you want from a pub?
