| In many respects this seemed a fairly unremarkable pub – service was OK; Greene King ales on tap; averagely comfortable seating. But it has what looks like an original Victorian or Edwardian bar back with etched mirrors typical of the period, and some ancient-looking round marble-top tables that have clearly seen a lot of use. But on the whole I would say that this is not a pub worth seeking out, but a decent enough place to stop for a pint if you are in the area and happy enough to drink GK ales. | mib - when you say the barmaids are pocketable, do you mean they're soo tiny they would fit in pockets ?? IPA in good condition, but pretty soon ran out - along with the Abbot. So the only remaining choice was IPA 'Cold'. Not sure about this stroke of Marketing genius - it seems to be trying to be John Smiths - which in my book is a very bad idea. | Note to Messrs Greene & King: If you really want to sell more ALE - Encourage your Staff to FILL THE BLOODY GLASSES. I assume that the current Persistent short measure is due to a Proactive Punter reProfiling Programme. You are truly taking the P's. Perhaps it would help if you published an exchange rate for Inches of Thong-Flaunted vs Froth-Poured - Displayed next to the Tariff ? The Abbot is still in very good condition - It just doesn't come in full Pints any more. I expect it's down to global warming or something. What we need is more Polar Bears behind the Bar. mib - 25 Apr 2007 01:22 |
| Craig and Karen moved to the Bree Louise - near Euston Station - about three years ago. mib - 21 Dec 2006 23:07 |
| I used to work at the George with Craig and Karen many moons ago. Would like to catch up with them, does anyone know when they left the George and where they left for? Bella51 - 21 Dec 2006 16:12 |
