Was once (a very long time ago) a decent pub when it first opened as a Hogshead, but has declined consistently to its current sad state as a daytime venue. However, it's probably a bit more lively in the evenings when the advertised DJs, karaoke and live bands are on. That aside, the two pool tables, a mezzanine seating area and patio beer garden in an excellent location on the riverfront are all wasted. Just one of the five handpumps was working, giving an indifferent pint of Pride at £2.60. Grim.

Good pub, good range of drinks and never had a bad pint yet. Seems that sometimes busy nights catch bar staff unawares and takes them a while to catch up. service can be lacklustre but decent. Mondays and Thursdays are very young though they are student nights so to be expected really unfortunately they are the live music nights as well.
Busy at weekends with a few fights here and there but dealt with pretty quickly and as an oldie much better age range. All in all decent pub very different from night to night but better than most in town.

Very bad. The beer makes me sick every time I visit, even if I've only stopped in for 2 pints! Was even ill the last few time when I switched to spirit and mixer. Yes, the prices are cheap but the place is full of abusive pikeys and there are fights at weekends. A completely different group on Mondays though! Much more well-behaved. The karaoke is OK.

Went to this place to see a band recently........
A large roomy pub with lots of seating on two floors. A good choice of lagers and ales with the usual alcopops and wine selection. Prices are cheap with shabby and at times poor bar service. The bar area itself though is well kept and (looks) clean.
The average age of customers seems to be about 16-19 with a sort of youth club atmosphere rather than a tradtional pub. Still if this is what works for the place then good for them! Given the area of the town this venue is in I would imagine on Friday & Saturday nights its your usual upright drink till you drop vomiting contest into the river outside and then a blue light taxi to the nearest hospital. Unless your under 20 avoid at all costs.
