On way back to our hotel New Year's Eve - saw that the pub was still open. Dying for a pint and this pub did not disappoint. The OBB was what I needed after much running around the shopping areas. Completely unpretentious, and nowhere near as fancy as some other Sam Smith pubs, but great service and conversation as I learned more and more about this curious brewery. Friendly group of regulars who made me feel at home for the 45 minutes or so that I was there. NM_Ale_Drinker - 9 Jan 2010 19:54
Quite a find when you need to escape from the shopping brigade. Usual good value for drinks. Mr_ESB_Harry - 29 Nov 2009 11:40
Again a nice little sam smiths ( there a bit marmite, you love 'em or hate 'em) tucked of oxford street, not dead but not overly busy either. Not bad for a pint & the paper while the wife goes shopping! JimmyJacksonJones - 31 Oct 2009 14:48
The toilets have recently been refurbished and they are clean enough to eat your dinner off. I'm not mad keen on SS beers and ciders - and their selection of wines is rubbish - but the pub itself (and the staff) is so pleasant (and dog friendly, which is important to me) that I don't care. My favourite place to drink in the west end - especially on the weekend when it is empty. The_Slider - 24 Aug 2009 22:21
enjoyed a good evening upstairs on the 'Pure Brew'. Quite an elegant boozer - not much messed around with, and certainly a more erudite crowd over this side of Oxford St than that lot in Soho.... gonetolunch - 19 Jul 2009 09:46
