A busy and popular local. Food served all day I am pleased to say. Good selection of real ale. Brew XI, pedigree, purity UBU, thornbridge PICA PICA and Wold Top Dawn of Time.

Just reopened after a refurb. Probably the best town centre local although a bit studentie!

I ordered a moussaka to eat from a very extensive menu - this proved to be a very ominous choice. It cannot have been defrosted properly or cooked long enough. When my wife and I got back to our hotel in late pm- she ate a tasty chicken salad by the way- I was badly sick and could tell the reason- say no more.
Whatever you eat there be careful and management please take greater care. Beer was ok and service v quick friendly- for food service probably should have been slower- this was on Sunday 1 December 2007

Quite possibly the best pub in town. A great selection of well kept beers and a terrific menu available until 9pm.All at very reasonable prices.
The manager is very friendly and his team are great.
