Just reopened after a refurb. Probably the best town centre local although a bit studentie! beersareus - 7 May 2008 16:41
I ordered a moussaka to eat from a very extensive menu - this proved to be a very ominous choice. It cannot have been defrosted properly or cooked long enough. When my wife and I got back to our hotel in late pm- she ate a tasty chicken salad by the way- I was badly sick and could tell the reason- say no more. Whatever you eat there be careful and management please take greater care. Beer was ok and service v quick friendly- for food service probably should have been slower- this was on Sunday 1 December 2007 boreham6 - 4 Dec 2007 04:39
Quite possibly the best pub in town. A great selection of well kept beers and a terrific menu available until 9pm.All at very reasonable prices. The manager is very friendly and his team are great. jack. - 14 Mar 2007 19:41
lets face it this pub is not spectacular in any regard. in fact if you're going to walk that far down the street you might as well carry on a bit further and get a decent drink out leek wooton BeerBolshevik - 25 Jan 2007 14:49
The Green Man has moved a long way from its former days as a thunderbox. I'm not a big fan of turning traditional pubs into chain pubs, but Ember Inn do it a lot better than anyone else. Beers fine, atmosphere pleasant. If you've been to The Bowling Green in Lichfield - its just like that. And if you haven't - its still just like that. londinieres - 14 Sep 2006 10:02
