Actually found this not to be too bad when went in last week. I have heard plenty of bad reports about the pub and its punters and despite looking a little threatening from the outside it actually turns out to be quite OK inside. The downside though was the lack of beer when in which was only Courage (yuk in anywhere - it's a horrible beer) and was forced to drink John Smith's smooth which was none to bad and reasonably priced too. Put a couple more beers on pump and this may become a better pub. On bus routes K1, S3 and the station (Malden Manor) is right next door to the pub.

The Manor is a little gem of a pub. Just opposite Malden Manor station, you'll find fantastic food (I recommend the home made burgers), some fine local ales, several seperate bars to suite your mood and a chilled out and relaxing atmosphere. Pop in and you'll be greeted by the very friendly landlord and will soon feel at home.

One clip advertised Caledonian 80 but unfortunately it was off (no barrel on); they could have turned the clip round, but didn’t. another handpump was for Bombardier but it was off (barrel on but sour and undrinkable). That left Courage Best as the best bet, and it was OK – that is, it tasted like Courage Best usually does. Good job it was on too, the next best was extra cold John Smith Smooth! This pub is quite interesting in that it retains all the original separate bars – Public; Private; and Lounge. It’s a large stand alone pub right next to Malden Manor station, that seems to cater for locals. In fact, there’s not much reason to travel to visit this pub. It’s OK for a pint if you happen to be passing (as I was) but not really worth any special effort to visit.

Recently given a bit of a spruce up, The Manor is well worth a visit if you're passing through the area or are just off the train.

The beers are well kept and the guvnor Gaz is always a welcoming host, just as long as you don't give him grief for being a Leeds fan!

Try it......

Has a reputation as being rough, but seems spacious and quiet, actually, especially early afternoon. However they do a really rotten pint of Doom Bar - which can be sourish, but not like this. I came back a week later and was daft enough to try it again. Yuk.
