Has had a refurb and looks a fair bit better for it.

No ale on, but manages to serve up a real cider (Westons).

As noted previously, full of students - though of a more snotty, upmarket variety than the College Arms.

Yea the Jack of Both Sides was a great pub... NOT!

Do you even know how much trouble they had with drugs and violence?

The UpIn Arms is a good pub, the majority of the staff are hardworking. Drinks are cheap in comparisson to town centre prices. It's not quite as pimp as Pavlov's Dog in town, but thats just had a massive refit.

Menu has a good variety and in cooked competently.

Bring back the Jack of Both Sides.

A complete student pub, but it fulfills that purpose quite well. Their discount card is good value if you intend on visiting regularly, there's a large games area and they tend to decorate around certain holidays (most recently half the rooms were lit by sinister, and annoying, red lights).

The food was better than expected and reaches slightly beyond your usual pub fare. Decent place.

Horrible place. Bad food and rubbish drinks, and it's not even that cheap.
