Had just finished a walk down the river from Guildford and wandered in here for lunch. Very full of locals and the bar staff were very friendly, great outdoor seating area. Beers were okay, but the food was a real disappointment, didn't think anyone could stuff up burger and chips, but I didn't even finish it all, because it was that bad. Nice place to stop for a drink, but wouldn't recommend eating here.

Ok for a quick pint and the footie. Friendly enough.

On a recent trip to Godalming for a ride on the horse drawn boat we stoped here for some lunch.
Very well priced food & the pint of Badger was great.

I had a good chat to the barman who knew alot about the river and the trip we were about to go on.
He was very imformative.

Great pub would recomend to all & very well priced for a town centre pub.

Well worth a visit

Large, imposing street corner town pub. The Sun seems to be quite a local centered pub but seemed perfectly friendly to a passing stranger.

A full selection of Badger ales were on tap alongside some interesting lagers. Being on cider on a hot afternoon I had Stowford Press at £3.20 a pint.

The bar was clean and tidy with pictures of cricket and rugby around the walls and a widesceen tv with Sky Sports on. They were advertising what seemed to be very reasonable food deals.

Thid appears to be a perfectly decent pub and I would return, despite extemely steep stair up yo the gents!

If you avoid hanging about at the bar with the "interesting" locals and get past the funny looks when you walk in, its a great pub. Good selection of drinks, reasonable prices and the food is exactly what you would expect - simple but effective.
