| got to gice this place an identical review as did for the carpenters arms jut a meter or two down the road. brilliant. despite its incredibly touristy location, this pub is not just a passing resemblance of a traditional pub for tourists, it is anACTUAL traditional oub and a good one at that. dark and badly laid out, just like all good old fashioned pubs should be, compltete with a low door that every bangs there head on when leaving. plus the excellent "knight of garter" on the pump love it. | The pubs close to the castle are surprisingly good, even if prices touch £4 and the typical conversation is about menu options. This was a lovely place to read a paper before the lunch rush, and for a change the local beer was gorgeous rather than dull home brew. mtaylor40 - 25 Jun 2013 01:15 |
