user reviews of Slyne Lodge, Slyne

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

All the beers in this place were from the Marstons range. So I assume this is a former Jennings establishment - Wychwood Dirty Tackle, Jennings Cumberland Ale & Summit Else & Ringwood Best. It's a large building that must have been hiding quite a few punters given how busy the car park was. One group were shown from their table in the bar area to a table for a meal, whilst there also seemed to be a party ongoing. Quite an upmarket place.

Fantastic - very welcoming landlord, decent cheap pub food and excellent Jennings Bitter (the dark one), with great walks nearby

My wife and I visited this place on Sunday 22nd Aug 2004, we were served luke warm food and to rub salt into the wound,we were fighting off the flies. When we pointed this out to the Landlady/Manager she tried to make a joke of it with the Landlord/Manager and we never saw her again. It is totally different to the last time we called and must assume that it is under new management.

Very overated pre-packed food warmers, not much other than a production line, not much evidence of a staff training programme.

200 year old large house, now a pub with restaurant. Large comfy carpeted lounge. Serves Jennings Ales. Large car park.
