I started to use the Ivy House when the Princess Louise closed for the refurb and I have to say it's a much nicer place than I remember it a couple of years ago. The staff are friendly and there's a reasonably good selection of beer (mainly lagers). They often have Harvey's on draught too. The restaurant was recommended by a Thai friend and I have to say that it was the best experience I've had with Thai food (and very reasonable). However, I shall be returning to the Princess Louise when it re-opens as it just feels more like a proper pub. eddieframpton - 6 Dec 2007 12:44
I can't comment on the beer, but the Thai restaurant upstairs is brilliant. Best green curry I've ever eaten. Priced about £7. Friendly service and a very clean wood-decor gastropub. Will be popping back for a few pints one evening. steve5312 - 16 Jun 2007 13:45
Been there twice in a month and found the staff attentive. Pub clean and busy. Last visit I found Thai restaurant on 1st floor was packed and I had to wait for a table. Service was a little slow but food is fantastic and Thai beer went well with meal. Also tried the Thai wine Moonsoon Valley which was very easy drinking. Can't understand some people and their comments. I suppose some people are out of place away from their local fish and chip shop donerootin - 16 Sep 2006 21:33
