Popped in here for a quick pint on the way home.
What a dramatic change this pub went through. Very Bistro/Wine bar type of aspirations but let down badly by the arrogant, ignorant, condescending staff and the quality of food.
Still gets busy at the weekends but mainly due to its local clientele.
So if it's a quick, very average meal and a pint you want this is the place...but you will pay well for it!

very generous with the chips. my steak was a little tiddler though.

Just like Kerry Katona, I think The Star has gone to Iceland for much of their deep fried delights

Taking my 2 children and my mum, for sunday dinner at £6.95 I was surprised to pay £5.95 for a childrens portion. After finally receiving our food, the yorkshire puddings were so burnt they crumbled to ash on touch, and the beef was so rare it was leaking blood, much to the childrens disgust. After failing to get any civilty from the bar girl, we needed to knock on the kitchen door, to be greeted by the landlord, and made to feel a nusiance for asking for our beef to be a little less rare. Having 2 hungry children we ate as best we could, from this now very un-appertising sunday roast, and left.
Finalising if you like your potatoes very very crisp, your yorkshire burnt and your meat extra rare this is the place for you!!

Due to open shortly after long awaited refurbishment. Renown for its reputation for the quality of home cooked food. Extensive menu, booking always recommended, particularly for Sunday lunchtimes.

Pub on the outskirts of town, almost in Heath & Reach. Most of the customers are there for the pretty good food rather than the only average beer and often surly service. Hardly worth the journey from the town centre unless you are there to dine.
