OK so the beer is none to bad, the garden area passes muster but for crying out loud I do not like to be kept waiting by the bar person sending a text on the mobile!! Locals not all that friendly either!

Good back street local with proper beer. The mild was Ansells. They do now have a basic bar menu, pasty, chips and beans being typical. A gastro pub it aint but thank the Lord for that! A good pub in an area strangely devoid of good pubs.

As everyone says, a good traditional pub which I visit a least once a week. It no longer does food. There are 4 real ales--Harvey's, Summer Lightning, Banks's Original (a midlands Mild) and a guest--invariable in good condition. Activities include quizzes, darts, and Sunday jazz. Before it sounds like I'm in cahoots with the owners, I could point out that the bar staff are sometimes in a world of their own.

Thwaites Nutty Black, Summer Lightning, Harveys, gkipa. S/L was pretty good, Harveys was dull, rather poor. A locals bar & not a very enthusiastic welcome; their website mentions ‘shuffleboard’ but the bar-lady looked dumbfounded when I asked about it, one friendly chap overheard & explained it required an 8ft board that used to emerge on the occasional Sunday. Standard pub furniture, small tv showing racing, dartboard to the right occupied by very young drinkers. This was just a flying visit to Worthing, if I go back I don’t think RC will make the list.

Very nice folks, attentive barstaff, clean, quiet, Adnams Broadside a bit dear @ £2.80 but very tasty.
