| Excellent pub, small and dark inside but great chill out place offering good real ales (Dark Star and Cheritons tonight). Good relaxed chilled music and nice barmaids. mikey64 - 15 Jan 2012 20:46 |
| Still very busy on Friday/Saturday nights, but a must if you're in the Bedford place area- nice classy place to either start or end your night. Barmaids have always been the best looking in Southampton. Beers are always good to, there are only three handpumps but the range seems to change weekly. Word is that the freehold is available right now for anyone with a spare £1m. NB33 - 22 Sep 2009 00:38 |
| Had the ambience of a student pub but one that happens to sell real ales - not that anyone else seemed to be drinking 'em! Three on on our visit - Solar Power from Isle of Purbeck brewery and Spire Ale from Stonehenge plus one from Wadworth, the former two were both served in perfect nick. Not far from the superb Guide Dog up the road and worth a look. Er, as an aside, didn't seem to be anything cricket related going on in this pub, which is either a good or bad thing depending on your viewpoint of the beautiful game. | First of all i dont see the grumbling about 16/17 year olds being knocked back. at the end of the day its strictly over 18's regardless of whether you with your grandparents or not! as for the pub itself, its a fantastic place to either drop in for a few or have a good session on the guinness or house rum! excellent atmosphere with a fantastic laid back clientele. highly reccomend the chicken burgers aswell. only will drawback is on Friday and Saturday evenings it can get very busy and take quite long to get served, but its defo worth the wait. craigf86whu - 31 Mar 2009 17:00 |
| Loving the new decor, it looks as "hip" and fashionable as ever without being a "trendy" hang out, you don't need to be a fashion victim, or a Hollyoaks extra to drink in here. The beer is excellent and so is the food. The atmosphere at weekends is warm, friendly and welcoming, with fun loud music, good dancing tunes and professional door staff. Have been going for nearly ten years and i will never stop. Robep - 30 Mar 2009 16:35 |
