Since the pub has been taken over and redone it FAB!!! katie_pooo - 5 Jan 2008 02:06
Thyme at the Tavern. Hrrrmm. Stopped in here for a quick one last weekend and the interior has been nicely refurbished. However it is now a bit too poncey and wine-bar-ish for my liking. Nice place to take your bird out to eat by the looks of it, which I suppose is what it's intended for. Isaac_Hock - 5 Nov 2007 21:19
Well guys, it's open again! Totally refurbished (practically rebuilt by the amount of time the builder took). Except now it is a gastropub called Thyme at the Tavern. Food tonight (and rememember this was its opening night) was rather good, and it had a decent selection of beer, served properly by Aaron and his team (all smiles and jokes so that's a positive sign). Brand new loos, no more damp that I could see and even live music again. Absolutely nothing to complain about yet! Milestone - 18 Oct 2007 23:41
Crappy little hole, not much else can be said really. Isaac_Hock - 4 May 2007 22:41
Err...why the 9.0 rating? This place is a dive. I wouldn't go in there in scuba gear on. Real ale is shockingly bad. I backed mine an opted for a Guinness which managed to be as bad. Beyond the beer the place is in a shocking state. Wallpaper hanging off, huge damp patches on the ceiling and walls and the toilets are Victorian at the latest. There's a big painted sign on the exterior wall boasting 'Fully Functioning water closets'. Well the sooner someone pulls the chain on this toilet the better. Terrible place. Avoid! huntface - 8 Jan 2007 23:48
