Six of us arrived at the Windmill at 7.30pm on a Wednesday. When some of us ordered burgers the waitress said that, as they were large, they would take twenty three minutes to cook. After waiting for about another hour and a half all six people received their orders. After we had finished our main courses and the dishes had been cleared it was about 9.40am so we decided to order some deserts. No staff came to our table to ask if we would like anything else so I went to the cash desk at about 10-00am and said to Terrese Scriven," We have been here two and a half hours and no one has been to attend to us, I think the service is abysmal and you run this restaurant like and amateur."A couple leaving, who overheard me, remarked, " You've got that right." I asked Terresa how she felt about the service and she replied," Well you've had your main course, have't you?" I said, " If we order deserts approximately how long will they take?", she replied,"Not long." I then asked her repeatedly to put a number on 'not long'; she would'nt. After she refused to give me an appoximate time to serve the deserts I said," You run this resturant like a rank amateur and do not deserve to suceed with your business." she replied, " Well do you want the deserts of not?" I decided to take a chance and we ordered six deserts that took about half an hour to arrive. During the whole of this experience Therese Scriven never once appologised for the appauling service or even came into the room to ask how our food was. I coud hear other diners near by were having the same problem as they were all complaining. The food was acceptable and the price reasonable but this was probbly because Wednesdays were special offer nights. The prices for other mights were, in my opinion, outrageous as the experience was most definately not 'fine dining'. When we eventually left, no member of staff said goodbye and thanked us for our custom.Although the one other female member of staff did her best but the fault for the unbelieveably bad service lies with Terrese Scriven as she is, I assume, the boss. I have visited many resturants in the UK and around the world and this is, without doubt, the worst I have ever come across. DO NOT GO THERE chevronb29 - 23 Feb 2012 23:14
Came in for a meal on Saturday lunchtime. The pub has lovely views from the attractive terraced gardens and a stylishly decorated interior with a nice sunny conservatory overlooking the gardens. The landlady didn't seem in a particularly good mood and seemed reluctant to put a barrel on the one beer pump (London Pride) but eventually did. The food is very expensive but we thought, given the quality of the décor and surroundings, that it was to be expected and hoped it would live up to our initial impressions. Not so. The food took forever to come, despite there only being one other table of three people in the pub, and when it did, our distinctly ordinary £7 tuna, red onion and mayo toasted sandwich (made with cheap pre-sliced bread) was cold and the £2 side order of chips were a tiny bowl of frozen fries. Pretty views, but that's about it. DottyMcDots - 24 Oct 2011 21:21

Had a quick pint in here Sunday afternoon. Only one beer available, an ok London Pride at £3.40. Obviously a gastro pub. Small area next to the bar was showing the grand prix. Looks like there was a decent garden. Doors tend to get stuck, I thought it was closed at first! GuideDogSaint - 12 Sep 2011 18:06
