The Royal Oak was taken over by new tennents on the 12.07.07 whaen walking in to the pub i was met by by a very warm and friendly atmoshere i felt that although it was my first time in there i was one of the locals there is something about the little quaint pub that keeps there the new landlord made sure that he spent time going round the customers meeting and greeting wich is nice as pubs today you dont really now who the landlord is he was very friendly and polite and had time for everyone.
Although the pub has lost the cask ale side and gone onto draught the landord pointed out that he was going to have it reinstalled on the 31.07.07 so he can give a choice to all customers young and old even down to the entertainment from student night to even a senior citizen night were he has a keyboard / vocalist in and the older ones can get up and dance and even have a sing the weekends are a mix for everyone from disco/kareoke friday and sunday and saturdays its 60 70 80 night along with other entertainment and particapating things to do through the week with a nice menue consisting of bar snacks and small meals just to fill the gap,it comes across to me that he is trying to make it back to a comunity pub although its classed as a city centre pub i think personaly that this little pub is definaltley worth a visit if not for the the things on at nite but just for a nice friendly chat and welcome

This local pub is located next to Sainsburys and just up from the High Road with other nearby pubs. It is a great place to visit. The friendly welcoming atmosphere, and comfortable surroundings make a good place to relax. There are dominos, cards, darts, pool etc. Good real Ale, and has been featured in 'The Nottingham Drinker' publication.
