A good atmosphere and wide choice of real ales, BUT we were heavily short changed by the barman and had to argue to get the correct change. Not recommended.

In here tonight for a quick one after leaving the Astoria. Pride, Landlord, Batemans XXXB, Hen and Coach House Blueberry Classic Bitter. Bottles included Schneider Weisse, Erdinger Dunkel and Fruli. Medium sized room downstairs and a dining area and bar upstairs.

Reasonable enough boozer with decent ales but invariably too busy - (see my notes for the Marquis of Granby) so I've given up visiting here.

I have been in here a few times with mixed results. Today it was a rather warm pint of Golden Newt and a chilled rather wonderful pint of Wainwright. Even though it is in busy Central London it is not too expensive (under £3 for most beers) and friendly enough but prone to pissed idiots occasionally. All in all - I like their attempts at selling tasty REAL beers with tasting notes on the pumps. Yes it's aimed at tourists but some neighbourhood pubs would do well to emulate this formula. Well done Cambridge.

Visited this pub yesterday Afternoon as part of "THE THEATRELAND" Dick Whittington Beer Trail. Usual good selection of Nicholson rated Cask Conditioned Ales, also punters can vote on the next guest ale they want. Agree with other reviewrs pub is either Too popular or Too Small. Still the Service and Atmosphere was good Would recommend a visit and the food looked good although I did not taste any, would go back.
