A new update with a new management in place - the old management used to be a couple which while never had any problems with always looked to me like they had no enthusiasm to be running the pub, and looked like they'd prefer to be elsewhere Looks like the walls have had a lick of paint. And an ale pump has appeared. Only had an afternoon visit but I like the potential of this pub - on a busy cross junction wheather your inside or in the garden its a good feeling to have a pint and watch the world go by. With them reportedly making an effort inthe evenings it is a place that deserves to win. the_original_rawnsleys - 16 Jan 2012 11:37
This pub is now under new management. It now has very friendly and lively bar staff and a decent selection of drinks. Currently the only hot food available is sausages in baps, but if this is popular other options are likely to become available. The back garden area is spacious. There is a Juke Box which costs 50p for 1 track, £1 for 3 tracks or £2 for 11 tracks. Additionally there are two electronic gaming machines. Toilets are clean and well maintained. The new management are looking to bring in regular events for Friday nights and Weekends (tonight they have Karaoke witha free shot for your first performance). Not the cheapest place in the area (around about £3.20 a pint), but the atmousphere is chilled and relaxed. There is Sky TV. Tangoman1978 - 9 Sep 2011 14:28
I have to agree with the reviewer below. This pub seems to be getting less and less enjoyable on each subsequent visit Also would help if the guy who runs it actually looked a bit more like he enjoyed doing so... doesnt exactly feel welcoming On a good visit in here it feels like a small house party is occuring but doesnt have that good feel alot these days the_original_rawnsleys - 3 Aug 2010 10:24
A shadow of its former self, I'm afraid. I paid a long-overdue return visit on Thursday evening, and found a pub containing a small number of unfriendly lager drinkers wearing the latest in tracksuit designer wear. The whole experience was just miserable. I'll try again in 10 years' time. timkholman - 31 Jul 2010 18:03
