Now bearing the name "Pratts and Payne" and run by http://www.antic-ltd.com/ who have a small number of South London pubs. "Pratts" was Streatham's department store and part of the John Lewis chain when finally closed to make way for redevelopment in 1990. The "Payne" is is probably a reference to "Cynthia Payne" a notable Streatham (ex-?) resident. Advertised as being open while under redevelopment. Feels a bit like a building site with lager right now but having enjoyed the Antelope in Tooting, I have hopes for the new owners.

Pub has improved vastly since the new manager was introduced last summer, staff are friendly and helpful, 3 real ales on which are obviously well kept, good deals cant really argue when you get a beer and a burger for £3.99!! (ok not gordon ramsey but very acceptable), the problem is that you get the feeling from the place that they are not given the support needed by M & B which is a shame as could be alot better if they just loosened the purse strings.

AVOID at all costs!! Disgusting toilets, rude staff and full of drunk chavs, doormen haven't got a clue and put you on edge, give the impression they want trouble especially the little one! If you want a cheap pint better off next door, better still try the Leigham 2min walk away! Bit pricey but better class of customer!

Utterly unmemorable pub on Streatham High Road - one of many in the area. Head for the Holland Tringham or better yet the Leigham Arms if you're unlucky enough to find yourself drinking in Streatham of an evening in the first place.

Grotty, gritty and grimy.

Still, offically the cheapest round I have ever bought in London: £3.40 for two Youngs, which were in reasonable condition.
