This is the place to go if you are visiting Padtsow on a hot day as it's the only pub with outside seating overlooking the harbour. For that reason, it get's pretty busy if it's not raining. Beer (the regionally ubiquitous St Austell) is fine and teh staff friendly. We sat inside as all the outside tables were taken and that was pleasant enough as well. Cover_Point - 26 Apr 2011 15:41
Been here many times, very busy but good food. Had some lovely pear cider too! Dog friendly. stumpypaws - 12 Dec 2010 22:50
We've been to this pub once before, and felt it worth a second visit. Fantastic looking pub, with a sympthetically decorated interior - except the flat screen TVs, but then you can't have everything. Very good choice of beers and ciders - the usual St Austell suspects and Rattlers. Friendly staff who don't hassle you. Have yet to try the food, but it looked pretty good. Difficult to get a seat ouside on a sunny day, so had to settle for inside. Not sure why this pub hasn't got into the Good Beer Guide yet. The_Fishers - 31 Jul 2010 09:43
My wife and I visit Padstow regularly and this is our favourite pub. It is not a 'purists' pub, I know (try the Golden Lion or the London) but if you like good beer, nice staff (landlord is a good guy) and perfectly decent (but not posh) food then it's great. If you can get a space outside (on the town side of the pub, overlooking the harbour) in summer it's delightful. davidsouthuk - 16 Sep 2008 15:01
Visited this pub on a grey day in Padstow, Most people were inside because of the weather, so it felt busy. Pub and interior look very old, so it's kind of dissappointing to see flat screen t.v's adorning the walls for the sport. Sign of the times I suppose. I had a nice pint of H.S.D. though, as I looked out the window at the rain. What's happened to Summer! hampshirehog - 2 Sep 2008 23:44
