I ran this place a few years back and went through hell turning it around as I had to literally bar about 90% of the people going in there at the time due to drugs, underage drinking, aggressive behaviour and pretty much everything else you can imagine. After about three months of a half empty pub and loads of support from the great locals (Carpet Steve, Robin, The Football, Darts and Pool Teams and many more) it started to fill up with really nice, normal people who had stayed away for years because it had been such an unwelcoming and intimidating place before. Got to a point where it was really lovely but had to leave as to maintain it meant I had to be on site 24/7. If the owners are reading this, it's such a shame as it is a beautiful building, lovely grounds and has great potential (I know this to be a fact) if a really really strong, very experienced landlady / landlord took it over (which yes, will cost you). The good people of Chessington deserve somewhere decent to go without fear of intimidation or aggressive behaviour and bad language.

Years ago we used to visit this pub regularly. It had real ale, good food and a good landlord. When he left, it started a downhill run. Ownership changed, there were makeovers but, the downhill run continued. Some staff tried really hard and still do in an attempt to make it a nice place. There is real ale back there. Sadly, it is a pub that attracts the wrong people - perhaps it is because it aims at the lower end of the food market price wise. I was in the other night for a quite drink and all I heard was a load of f***** swearing coupled with, aggressive behaviour. It was very unpleasant and very, very sad.

Chavland..........Kids with spots trying to be men but failing dismally. Poor atmosphere, bad pub in a bad part of town unfortunately. Please close it down.

Not been in this pub for years but I had a callout round the corner so gave it a try. Driving so had a lime and water but what a great lunch, large portion and good value.

I went to this pub this evening as a treat for my dad for father's day what a mistake that was.

The food was awful, our steak was definitely dead. There were hardly any chips and the sausages had been deep fried and were inedible. The staff also didn't seem to want to serve you unless you were a local, kept walking past me to serve regulars despite me standing there for 10 minutes!

I certainly would not recommend this pub and will not be eating there again.
