Bloody awful. Only person at the bar, two staff on, and it took 8 minutes to be served by a very angry girl who said, "What, do you want something". The smell in the gents stings the nostrils and eyes, but thats not as bad as the service. Maybe if they sorted the service out they wouldn't have to do full meals inc pint for £6.99. A total hole.

Of the chain pubs O'Neill's is the one I find least offensive (although this is a little like being the tallest dwarf). This particular establishment used to be a fairly grotty place called the Sugar Loaf 15 or more years ago.

It has shown some improvement since then with the bar area being extended at the rear into the adjacent building and there was a nice relaxed atmosphere when I arrived in mid afternoon.

As seems standard for O'Neills the only ale on offer was Pride although there was also Smithwicks for those who a like a pint they need to chew.

It's a pretty inoffensive establishment but with the Watling and Golden Fleece nearby not a place I would use as a destination of choice in the Mansion House area

An after-work drinking location. Popped in about 6.30pm for a couple before going for a curry and it was pretty busy. Came back afterwards for a couple more and it was pretty empty. Staff were friendly enough and the Smithwicks was fine but as I said, it's a place for drinks after work if you're in the area rather than somewhere you'd head to for an evening out.

Small Irish theme pub, split in two. Just that the smokign side (with more seating) is larger than the non....

Does have guiness (a reasonable pint) as well as their newly launched Red Guiness (do not bother. It is just cold and very bland. Stay with the real thing).

The bitter does vary both in quality and range. 2 weeks ago the Pride was on the seen better days, whereas the Landlord end of last week was ok. (We only have been in so often, as others wanted to try the Red guiness).

Other pubs less sardinied locally and less smokey.
