Decent enough as a pub but the food was disgusting. I would have happily refused to pay but the others in my party didn't wish to cause a fuss. Wouldn't go again and would urge anyone to walk around the corner to the Crown Inn where the meals were wonderful. Golden Key, okay if you just fancy a drink but avoid at all costs if you are looking to eat.

Traditional country pub with three Adnams bitters and very good reasonably priced food. Just enough pubby atmosphere to keep this on the right side of being a restaurant.

Very pleasant place if you want to pay 13.99 pound for a rabbit pie and 3.70 for a pint, tucked away down a quiet road it has a nice position.

First impressions were good - clean, lots of atmosphere and friendly efficient staff. However meal was great disappointment. Onion tart with goats cheese was more a quiche with virtually no taste of onion or cheese. The meat pie had greasy, soggy pastry and and the filling was almost entirely onion. What little meat was in it was OK but overall very poor. Shame really, as the establishment had been recommended by friends. We may try it again but choose something else. Prices a little high compared with pubs nearby.

Pub has changed hands recently from previous (longish) term incumbent. As far as I can see any change from previous excellent regime has been for the better - difficult I know - but true. Food has certainly been upgraded - had line caught cod & chips - my two guests had a pheasant pie the like of which I have never seen before. Made to share for two, with a shin bone as a funnel, it could have served three - however they ate it all and the generous servings of veg that came with it. My cod was probably the best I have ever had - batter crisp, chips huge, obviously hand cut, and homemade tartare sauce, and even a fantastic salad garnish - the lemony dressing was out of this world - no dry tomato & cucumber here. Beer was good too - my pint of Old was decent and a nice temperature. Pub decorated well too - not much clutter - nice solid furniture
Food fantastic
Beer pretty reasonable
9/10 overall
